To identify duplicate items in your Library, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the library or folder that you want to deduplicate.
  2. Slide the Show duplicates slider to the right. This may process for a few seconds.
  3. Sort items by Title by clicking on the up or down arrow next to the Title column heading.
  4. You will see duplicate items grouped by title.
You can then use the Move/Export/Delete button in the top menu to move duplicate items to another folder, or delete them.
Here's the quickest way to connect your Zotero library to Scholarcy:

  2. You will be prompted to log into your Zotero account, if you are not already logged into Zotero
  3. Once logged into Zotero, click the Accept Defaults button (alternatively you can click Change Permissions to configure which Zotero libraries and groups Scholarcy can access)
  4. You can now import your Zotero records and PDFs via the From the Web or cloud storage section of the Import panel.
  5. If you wish to disconnect Zotero from your Scholarcy account, you can do this on the Profile page

We have a hard limit of 400 pages per document. We generally don't support processing an entire book - it is much better to split a book into chapters and upload each chapter separately. This also makes sense from a reading perspective - each chapter will have its own themes and topics.

If you are currently on a monthly subscription, you can switch to an annual subscription (and vice versa) by following these steps:

  4. Select the new subscription type (Yearly or Monthly) option and click Continue
  5. You will be shown your new payment plan with any pro-rata payment due. If you are happy with this, click Confirm.

While our algorithms do a good job distilling the majority of documents into their key facts and findings, sometimes they struggle! If you find that a particular document does not upload, try one of the following:
  • If the document is a scanned PDF image, run it through OCR software first. There are both free and commercial software available for this.
  • If the document is a complete book, try breaking it down into separate chapters, and upload one chapter at a time
  • If the document is very large or many pages long, try breaking it down into smaller files and upload each of these separately
  • If the document contains many figures and images, try switching off Extract Figures in Settings > Import.
  • Send us the PDF and we'll investigate
Do you have other browser extensions installed? If so, try disabling them, or open Scholarcy Library in a new Incognito window (Chrome) or Private window (Safari, Firefox, Edge).
Log into your Scholarcy account and go to the Subscription page to manage your account. You have full control over your subscription and can pause and restart it at any time.

Indeed it is! An individual, annual subscription is available at $90 per year (pricing may also be available in your local currency). This represents a saving of 25% on the cost of 12 monthly subscription payments. Select the Annual Subscription option when activating your free trial.

If you have already started a subscription, you can switch from monthly to an annual subscription, or from annual to monthly, at any time, via the Manage subscription option on the Subscription page.

If you'd like an annual subscription for multiple users, please contact us as we can offer volume discounts and site licenses.

For individual subscriptions, we accept all payment methods supported by Stripe, which includes:
  • Most cards
  • Bank direct debit
  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • AliPay
  • Stripe's own Link service
For multi-user and institutional subscriptions, we accept payment by bank transfer. Please contact us for further details.

As well as being able to upload files directly to a folder, you can also attach one or more RSS feeds.

When you create a new folder, you'll see an RSS feed icon on the right.

Click on that icon, paste in an RSS feed URL, then click the Check RSS button to validate the feed, and click the Subscribe button to prepare your feed.

The feed will be checked every hour or so, so your folder may not be populated immediately, but you'll get an email when the feed is updated. RSS feeds work best if the content in the feed is open access, so we can fetch the full text, rather than just the abstract.

You can click on the RSS icon at any time to unsubscribe from or restore the feed. You can also attach more than one feed to a folder.
